Entomopathogenic Fungi: Interactions and Applications
نویسندگان
چکیده
Entomopathogenic fungi are a special group of soil-dwelling microorganisms that infects and kills insects other arthropods through cuticle penetration. They currently used as biocontrol agents against insect plant pests play vital role in their management. Regardless entomopathogenic on the agriculture market, full potential has not yet been utterly explored. Up to date substantial research covered topic revealing numerous uses pest management but also ability endophytes, assisting host growth pathogen resistance. This article addresses literature years, noting mode action, advantages, applications, prospects.

Bizarre interactions and endgames: entomopathogenic fungi and their arthropod hosts.
Invertebrate pathogens and their hosts are taxonomically diverse. Despite this, there is one unifying concept relevant to all such parasitic associations: Both pathogen and host adapt to maximize their own reproductive output and ultimate fitness. The strategies adopted by pathogens and hosts to achieve this goal are almost as diverse as the organisms themselves, but studies examining such rela...
متن کاملEntomopathogenic Fungi on Hemiberlesia pitysophila
Hemiberlesia pitysophila Takagi is an extremely harmful exotic insect in forest to Pinus species, including Pinus massoniana. Using both morphological taxonomy and molecular phylogenetics, we identified 15 strains of entomogenous fungi, which belong to 9 genera with high diversities. Surprisingly, we found that five strains that were classified as species of Pestalotiopsis, which has been consi...
متن کاملEntomopathogenic fungi for mosquito control: A review
Fungal diseases in insects are common and widespread and can decimate their populations in spectacular epizootics. Virtually all insect orders are susceptible to fungal diseases, including Dipterans. Fungal pathogens such as Lagenidium, Coelomomyces and Culicinomyces are known to affect mosquito populations, and have been studied extensively. There are, however, many other fungi that infect and...

متن کاملPotential of Entomopathogenic Fungi as Biopesticides
The growing demand for reducing chemical inputs in agriculture and increased resistance to insecticides have provided great impetus to the development of alternative forms of insect-pest control. Entomopathogenic fungi are potentially the most versatile biological control agents due to their wide host range. These fungi comprise a diverse group of over 90 genera with approximately 750 species, ...
